OOOOkay, sorry it's taken me so long to post again. Like I said, once school gets going full swing, it makes it a LITTLE harder for me to be diciplined about blogging, but I'm also not going to use it as an excuse, so here we go:-)
SO, it's true...I'm engaged to Josh and in about 9 months, I will Mrs. Josh Elliott, or Mrs. Megan Elliott, or however you're supposed to say it. I must say, I am quite excited to be towards the BEGINNING of the alphabet in terms of my last name. It might sound silly, but for my whole life so far, being a "W" has always caused me to be either last or pretty darn close to it. And granted, it probably won't make much of a difference now that I'm no longer in school or any of that stuff, but at least my children won't have to go through the same pain;-) But, I am getting off track.
Josh's proposal, I must say, was amazing. It's also kind of funny how it ended up unfolding. He was originally going to propose on Tuesday evening, January 16th. That date is when we first decided to "officially" start dating a year ago, so we had this big date planned for that night, which involved getting all dressed up and going to the Portland City Grill. But in the end, he decided not to propose that night, because he really wanted us to be able to relax and enjoy our dinner and view, but he knew that he'd be thinking about it all night, have the ring burning a hole in his pocket, and he'd go nuts:-) He also figured that'd I'd probably suspect it was coming and also be nervous with anticipation. SO, he randomly decided to propose 2 days early, and it's a good thing he did, because as all of you Portlanders remember, January 16th was the day that it snowed and closed down everything, including Portland City Grill!!! But luckily, his plans didn't get botched, and as the snow fell, I already had the ring on my finger:-)
ANYWAY, so the Sunday before that turned out to be the big day, and he literally decided on the spot to do it then, mainly because we were both having a great day together, the sun was shining, and we were in great spirits. We had gone to church and had lunch with my parents, and we were on our way to our friends house to watch some football and go out to dinner, and had stopped at his house first. It was there that he told me that he wanted to give me our "1 year" present early. It turned out to be a DVD of a picture slideshow that he made of our year together, and it had our song, "You Save Me" by Kenny Chesney, playing in the background. It was an awesome DVD, and I got all teary eyed sitting there looking back on one of the best years of my life. Well, at the end of the DVD, there were three slides that were words. The first slide faded in and said, "Our time together has been an incredible blessing." Then came the second slide which said, "I can't imagine my future without out you." Then the third one SLOWLY faded in, and it said, "Megan Wilson, will you marry me?" After that, he immediately pulled the ring out, got on his knees, and proposed! HOW ROMANTIC IS THAT???:-) I'm also excited because the DVD is something I can keep forever and show our kids someday.
So...that's pretty much been the highlight of my month...or year...or more:-) I am VERY excited to marry Josh. He is one of the best things that's happened to my life, and I fall more in love with him as time goes on.
I will definitely keep you all posted on the wedding. For now, we are planning on November 3rd; we are just in the process of getting the locations reserved. Also, for all you married folks, I'd welcome ANY and all advice on planning a wedding, because I am pretty much clueless.
That's all for now...more to come soon! Love to you all!

Just thought I'd share...
My grandmother's memorial service was back in September, and myself and about 4 other family members all gave short talks on what she meant to us. I thought I'd share mine with all of you.
My grandmother has been a huge part of my life ever since I was born, so I could obviously stand up here for hours and talk about the many ways that she has touched my life. So, as I was sitting and thinking of how to express to all of you what she means to me, two main aspects of who she was kept standing out in my thoughts.
The first is a lot more lighthearted. As many of you know, my grandmother loved sweets. Her eyes would light up if any food with the prime ingredient of sugar was in the vicinity, especially chocolate. I remember many years ago, when I was just a little kid, we were having a family gathering at our house on Easter Sunday. Earlier that morning, I had received a package of marshmallow Peeps in my Easter basket, which I know a lot of people think are disgusting, but I still stand by them to this day. Anyway, a package of peeps usually consists of three boxes of 5 peeps per box. During this family gathering, I discovered that more than half of my entire package of peeps was missing. I immediately thought, “Ok, one of my cousins ate them, or just took them to give me a bad time.”
Turns out…the culprit was none other than Grandma. She confessed her “peep crime” with the same look of a little kid with their hand caught in the cookie jar. It was, of course, impossible to be angry with her, and I will never eat another peep without thinking of Grandma.
As the years went on, her sugar love never wavered. Just a couple of months ago, Josh and I took her out to Baskin Robbins for ice cream. As we were in the store, scanning all of the selections, grandma immediately zeroed in on double chocolate fudge mousse or something like that…pretty much the most chocolaty ice cream you could get. She then looked at us, with that same kid-like expression, and asked “Could I get a waffle cone?” That question was shortly followed by, “Can I have two scoops?” However, as we were sitting outside eating our ice cream, it was clear that grandma had more ice cream than she knew what to do with. Before we knew it, it was dripping outside of the cone, onto her napkins, onto the table, and as much as she tried to control the situation, it was soon on her clothes as well. However, she just laughed and, with an innocent expression, said, “Oh well, maybe two scoops was a little much.”
On a more serious note, my grandma was a huge example to me in her faith. She always had unwavering faith in the Lord, even to the very end. She also read her Bible through faithfully every year. She never missed a day of reading the Scriptures and praying for all of us in whatever was going on in our lives. I had the privilege of reading her Bible to her on two different occasions while she was in the hospital. The second time, I was reading out of John, just a few hours before she went to be with the Lord. I remember she looked at me with her loving eyes and said, “I just love the book of John.” I had no idea that this would be the last time that I would spend with her, but now that I look back, I am so glad I was able to share with her in the love of the Savior, whom she would soon meet face-to-face. I am sure that all of you here been touched in some way by her loving and generous spirit, and we can now rejoice that she is in the loving arms of her Lord. Thank you all so much for coming.

Happy New Year!
The beach was quite fun! Lots of relaxing, some shopping, TONS of eating, and playing on the...you guessed it...beach. The weather was also fabulous. Last year, we got some amazing storms, but it made for hardly any beach time. This year, we actually had blue sky and it only rained the night we arrived and the day we left. Thanks Lord!:-)
This is Isaiah (my cousin Andrew's son) and me playing Candyland. What can I say, he keeps me young:-)

We saw some breathtakingly (is that actually a word?) large waves out by Depot Bay. We actually went to this spot because we were supposed to be able to see whales. No whales, but these waves made it worth it. Here's a good shot that Josh took.

And finally, here are some of my crazy family members, along with Josh, at this same spot.

Well, that is all for now; time to get ready for work. I hope everyone enjoyed their long weekends! Ciao!
