*Warning....this is a semi-grumpy post, something I try to not do a lot, but hey, it's reality sometimes...so bear with me:-)*
Since my internship, I have spent quite a bit of time on the road, traveling from site to site during the weekdays. And during this time, I have stumbled across probably my top pet peeve of my entire life. *deep breath* Ready?????
*When people take up two parking spaces with their car, ESPECIALLY in a crowded or busy lot, where parking is difficult enough as it is*
I seriously think this is the most self-centered, shallow, inconsiderate, and pompous display of arrogance I have ever encountered in society. I don't care if you have the nicest, shiniest vehicle on the planet; if you are honestly that worried about something happening to it, either don't take it to busy parking lots, or park it far out in the lot, away from other cars and get over yourself. And while you're at it...stop by Doernbecher Children's Hospital...or perhaps watch the news reports about people suffering in Myanmar, China, or many other places, and open your mind to the idea that there are many things in life more important than cars. It's a lot easier to repair a dent in a car door than it is to rebuild a home that's been destroyed by an earthquake or cyclone, or to cure a sick child.
If I could leave this message on every car door that does that, I would. But it would probably set the alarm off;-)
